The Neuberghausen Quarter in Bogenhausen

In the 15th century, there was a building opposite the church square in Bogenhausen that, within two centuries, developed into a beautiful estate. Today, this building would be located at Maria-Theresia-Straße 35.

It was called “Hofstatt auf dem Perg zu Pogenhausen” (at least in the 17th century). Some settlers in this area also referred to it as “Schlösschen” (little castle).

In the 18th century, the little castle opposite the church square in Bogenhausen was resold several times. It was ultimately acquired by Caspar Gregor von Lachenmayr. This happened on June 3, 1740. Just a few weeks later, the property was declared a noble residence. The new name: “Neuberghaußen.” The birth of Neuberghausen Castle!

In 1760, the castle was sold again, to August Joseph Graf von Törring-Jettenbach. In 1818, Neuberghausen Castle and the surrounding houses were elevated to the status of a municipality. In 1892, it was finally incorporated into Munich.
