In Germany, locksmiths are divided into, for example, construction locksmiths, toolmakers, artistic locksmiths, and automotive locksmiths. A construction locksmith takes care of various steel components in the construction industry. These include gates, doors, railings, as well as stairs and walkways.
A toolmaker manufactures various tools and devices, especially those not mass-produced industrially. The artistic locksmith, on the other hand, focuses on the production of particularly artistic metal structures. These can be artfully forged fences and gates, which not only demarcate an area but also look as good as possible.
The automotive mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, as well as the manufacture of vehicle bodies. In the regulatory frenzy of German authorities, the term “mechanic” increasingly disappeared from job titles. He or she was responsible for the maintenance and repair of systems and machines in the manufacturing and production industries. A machinist had a very similar job, but they maintained and repaired equipment in mechanical engineering. A steel construction fitter primarily dealt with steel structures such as steel supporting structures, steel bridges, and steel staircases. A pipe fitter, or more precisely a pipe fitter, manufactures and installs pressure pipelines. Logically, a pipe fitter must also be proficient in all welding work.
