The Am Priel-Hof Villa Colony
The Am Priel-Hof Villa Colony is a housing development in the Munich district of Bogenhausen, bordered by Englschalkinger Straße and Oberföhringer Straße. Effnerstraße runs through them. The villa colony is sometimes referred to as the “Norman Settlement” because of its many side streets and cross streets reminiscent of Normans. In addition to Rudliebstraße, Asgardstraße, Odinstraße, and Ortnitstraße, there is even Normannenstraße.
Construction of the Am Priel-Hof Villa Colony began in 1934. It takes its name from the “Priel-Hof” roadside inn, which was demolished in the early 1960s.
The architect Emil Wolf was responsible for the design of the colony. He divided the land available to him into over 120 plots, each averaging 600 square meters in size. These plots were eventually built with beautiful single-family and two-family houses, and villas.
