The Auensiedlung in the Munich district of Freimann

The Auensiedlung belongs to the Munich district of Freimann and is located in the east of Fröttmaninger Berg, directly between the Garching Mühlbach stream and the Schleissheim Canal. There is only one access road, which leads over a bridge over the Schleissheim Canal.

After the Second World War, the Auensiedlung was developed as an unincorporated settlement. It was only subsequently recognized as a settlement by the Munich City Council in 1953. This decision was primarily pushed through by the “Interest Group for the Auensiedlung on Freisinger Landstraße.” Had this group not existed, the Auensiedlung might not exist today!
